Cadillac’s facelifted XT4 crossover has been spotted testing in Morgantown, West Virginia, by CarScoops reader Chris Del Checcolo.
Caught following his convertible Corvette, the camouflaged crossover looks similar to XT4 prototypes we’ve seen testing previously. Again, it wears its tricky wrap that covers two unusual bumps on the hood and fenders. It seems unlikely that these bumps are a part of the real sheet metal, but the hood does appears to bulge more gently in the middle to use softer curves, as opposed to the old model’s sharp lines.
The bumps may, however, distract from the bigger change, which are the new headlights. Although they’re vaguely similar in shape to the 2022 XT4‘s, the actual low and high beam bulbs have moved down to the bottom of the vertical LED DRL.

Previously, that section was simply another grille element, but now it is a functional part of the lighting element. The light will continue to have a horizontal section at near the top of the front fascia, and this appears to have extended to touch the grille.
Speaking of the grille, it may now be wider and slimmer than the outgoing model’s, signalling another refinement to make this design look more upmarket.
Previous spy shots revealed that the back end and the rear lights were almost identical to the 2022 model‘s, suggesting that the majority of visual updates for the 2023 XT4 are being made at the front end.
Inside, meanwhile, spy photos previously revealed that the crossover will get advanced technology from its bigger stablemates. A shot of the interior showed a digital cockpit that stretches across the dash in much the same way as is offered on the Cadillac Escalade and Lyriq.
What’s under the hood remains a mystery, though we don’t anticipate many changes on that front. Reports suggest that the updated XT4 will hang on to its 237 hp (177 kW/240 PS), 2.0-liter engine in the U.S. and to its 2.0-liter turbodiesel in Europe.
Cadillac has not set an official reveal date for the updated XT4, but it should be shown soon and sold as a 2024 model year vehicle.
