Porsche has made no secret of the fact that it’s getting into the e-Bike game, and its latest updates to the eBike Sport and the eBike Cross should make them even better for owners.
Both come with an “organically shaped” carbon frame that is supposed to be reminiscent of the flyline of the Porsche Taycan, which served as inspiration for the bikes’ designers. The flat tubes, meanwhile, were designed by Studio F.A. Porsche to better reflect light.
The Porsche eBike Sport is designed for the road, and the company calls it “the perfect companion for everyday life.” New Continental tires provide optimized grip over gravel and unpaved roads.

The bike is powered by a Shimano EP-8 motor and a 630 Wh battery, which provide “powerful acceleration.” A new four-piston brake caliper at the back, meanwhile, helps slow the bike down, if you hit that accelerator a little too hard.
With integrated lights fore and aft, and brake and shifting cables that are hidden within the frame, the eBike Sport looks minimalistic and elegant. A new smartphone connector, meanwhile, lets riders securely affix their device during their commute.
The Porsche eBike Cross, on the other hand, is most comfortable off the road. The newly developed EP-8 motor that was made by Shimano helps give riders a natural experience from behind the handlebars, while delivering powerful assistance up steep hills.
To slow you down, it gets Magura-MT trail disc brakes, while the Shimano XT rear derailleur guarantees quick gear changes to let you meet the demands of the terrain. The hydraulically adjustable Crankbrothers seat post, meanwhile, ensures an easy, adjustable seating position for freedom of movement.
The front forks feature Fox 34 Performance suspension with 120 mm of travel. These combine with the Fox Float DPX damper that has 110 mm of travel in the rear, to ensure a comfortable ride, no matter how rough the trail gets.
Available in three frame sizes, the small bikes are ideal for rider who are 5’1″ to 5’7″ (1.56-1.7 m tall), the medium frame is ideal for riders who range from 5’6″ to 5’11” (1.68 – 1.82 m tall), and the large frame is for riders who are 5’10” to 6’4″ (1.8 – 1.94 m tall). The eBike Sport weighs in at 47 lbs (21.2 kg) while the eBike Cross tips the scales at 48 lbs (21.7 kg).
The Porsche eBike Cross costs $9,500 while the Porsche eBike Sport rings in at $11,750. Both are available online at porsche.com.
