The SEMA Show is right around the corner, but the buildup has been quieter than usual as big names such as Chevrolet, Ford, and Honda have bailed on this year’s event.
However, the show must go on and Toyo Tires is planning to have 28 new builds at their Treadpass display, which will also highlight their new Open Country R/T Trail tires. They’re billed as a hybrid offering that slots between traditional all-terrain and mud-terrain tires.
Putting tires aside, John Sarkisyan and S-Klub LA will showcase their 1955 Mercedes 300 SL Widebody. It’s being billed as the first widebody Gullwing ever created and it features a tubular chassis, an LS motor, and a Currie rear end. The car has also been equipped with HRE wheels and a “one-of-a-kind interior.”

Japanese sports car fans can check out a 1993 Mazda RX-7 from Sam Morris and Gooichi Motorsports. It features an LTO widebody kit and a “high compression, long rod race-spec M120 Mercedes V12” engine that is paired to an HGT sequential transmission. The model also sports Dkubus Bergmeister wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes RR tires.
While Ford won’t have an official presence at the show, there will be an assortment of different models on display at Treadpass. For the restomod crowd, there’s a 1973 Ford Ranchero that has been equipped with a 5.0-liter Coyote V8. The trucklette also sports a handcrafted billet grille, custom bumpers, and a custom bed with recessed taillights.
The updates continue in the cabin with a “modernized interior” that sports custom seats as well as a unique center console and special door panels. They’ll be joined by a modified dash, new gauges, and a double din audio system.
For off-roaders, there’s a 2021 Ford Bronco from Ralph Holguin and RMD Garage. It sports a Velocity Blue exterior with “one-of-a-kind rear bolt panel pillars,” masked taillights, tubular doors, and Open Country R/T Trail tires.
The Bronco has also been equipped with a “custom luxury interior” and it will be towing a rugged trailer outfitted with solar equipment from Goal Zero.
Lastly, there will be a race-ready 2019 Audi RS3 and a modified Ford Maverick. The latter sports a complete body kit consisting of a front air dam, fender flares, a grille surround, side skirts, and a tailgate spoiler. The truck also has a JBL audio system and an Air Bag It suspension.
